For attorneys and other senior legal services advocates
The Senior Legal Hotline also aspires to serve California seniors by helping fellow advocates communicate among themselves and by acting as a support center for our various efforts. Here are some of the forms this takes:

E-DISCUSSION AND E-NEWSLETTER FOR SENIOR LEGAL ADVOCATES AND OTHERS
We are creating means for electronic communications among California senior legal services programs, private elder law attorneys and others. To start, there will be two frameworks:

1. We have created a discussion group, limited to California senior legal services programs' advocates, to discuss legal issues affecting our clients, plus matters of collaboration, funding, joint outreach and effective delivery of services. Messages sent by any member will go immediately to all others. Content is the sole responsibility of every contributor.

For more information about this discussion, hosted through yahoogroups (formerly egroups), go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/calseniorlegalservices.

To apply to join the group, send an e-mail to: calseniorlegalservices-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

2. We have also created an electronic newsletter, open also to private attorneys, other providers of services to seniors, government officials and any other interested parties. It will begin occasionally, eventually becoming weekly, and will include items of interest we find and those submitted by other subscribers. We will oversee and edit content.

To subscribe to this e-newsletter, send an e-mail to calseniorlegalservices-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

To submit an item for publication in the newsletter, even if you are not a subscriber, send it to calseniorlegalnews@yahoogroups.com.

  • CLIENT EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS / SELF-HELP PACKETS
For a list of client educational materials and self-help packets published by the Senior Legal Hotline, please click here. Due to their specificity, these materials are not generally distributed to clients without first advising them by phone or at least at a live public workshop. But we are willing to share them with other senior legal services advocates and to permit their duplication and distribution in similar fashion as long as the hotline's name and contact information remain in place.

If you have questions about any of these matters, please contact the Senior Legal Hotline.
