If you're thinking of calling or e-mailing for legal advice
on behalf of someone else
who is eligible for our service, please read this...

  • If at all possible, please have the senior who has the concern call us. We prefer to speak directly with the person most affected by the situation - and who is eligible for our service.

  • Even a brief conversation with the senior, in which he or she asks us to speak with you, is preferable to no contact at all with the primary client.

  • We understand that sometimes, due to disability, illness, language barriers, etc., this is not possible. In that case, we are willing to speak with a concerned relative or friend.

But if we are not speaking directly with the senior who needs legal help, please realize that:

  • There may be a potential conflict of interest between you and the senior - for instance if you are trying to help her/him with a will, trust or power of attorney under which you could gain assets or control.

  • We realize that in the vast majority of cases, no one is trying to exploit such power for his or her own benefit at the expense of the senior or, perhaps, of other relatives or friends.

  • But the mere possibility means we may be able to give only limited advice to a third party calling on behalf of a senior. Please be understanding of this situation.
